Atlas Piers of Atlanta
Our mission is simple: To serve our clients with their best interests at heart, even if it means diagnosing the problem and eliminating our services. We do this because it is our ultimate desire to glorify God in all that we do, be it personal or professional.
The Atlas Piers team has more than 100 years of combined experience exclusively with foundation support products.
Wayne Farris, President, and Owner: With more than 30 years in the concrete and foundation industry, Wayne is a proven leader in foundation support. A native of South Carolina, he attended Francis Marion University on a baseball scholarship. After moving to Atlanta, he began a career in the concrete repair industry. At a professional trade show, he discovered the world of deep foundations and piering foundations and founded Atlas Piers of Atlanta. In his free time, Wayne enjoys studying Biblical Prophecy and devoting time to his wife and three sons.
Chad Costello, Vice President: Chad is a native of Panama City, Florida. Upon graduating from Florida State University, Chad relocated to Atlanta and immediately started his career with Atlas Piers of Atlanta as a Project Supervisor. Over the last 19 years, his determination and work ethic each play a major role in his success as he worked his way up the ladder to become the top product representative, vice president, and part-owner. When he’s not working, you can find him spending time with his wife and two children, and on Sunday they are at the Sugar Hill Baptist Church. Chad loves all water sports, but his favorite recreation is found 100′ deep, underwater spearfishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
Sue Agnew-Swinson, Office Manager: Sue joined the Atlas Piers team in March of 2017 as an Administrative Assistant and was promoted to Office Manager in April 2019. Prior to Atlas, Sue worked in managerial roles for several companies. Sue moved to Georgia from Long Island in 1996, and absolutely loves it here! Outside of work, Sue is married and has 3 adult children. She spends most of her time with her three rescued furbabies. She also loves to garden, tackle home improvement projects, read and foster for Atlanta Labs. Sue is a proud member of Northpoint Community Church, where she serves as a guest services volunteer.
Chad Myers, Commercial Foreman: Chad is a 21-year veteran of the pier foundation industry and has worked for Atlas Piers for the past 8 years. Chad is vocationally educated in machine operating and metal fabrication. Additionally, he has earned various certifications including OSHA Safety, Excavation, Forklift, Lift, and Operator certifications. Chad currently serves as Atlas’s Commercial Lead Foreman, managing all commercial projects. Chad enjoys spending time outdoors, especially fishing, hiking, and camping. He is married with two children: a son, who is Autistic, and a daughter. Chad is a proud advocate for his son and spends a lot of time working to raise awareness for Autism and Special Needs in his community.
Residential & Home Foundation Repair
Since 1987 Altas has been the expert in home foundation repair. We have lifted and supported more homes than most of our competitors combined. It’s not a sideline to us or something that we do when its not raining. Rather it is our core business and our specialty. What really separates us from our competition are the astounding results that we are able to accomplish. You see, when you start with the strongest piers in the industry, you can lift more weight. It’s really that simple. Repairing your home’s foundation is not a sideline job for us.
SIGNS YOUR HOME MIGHT NEED FOUNDATION REPAIR
There are several things that indicate possible foundation problems, and they include the following: doors and windows that don’t open properly, a leaning chimney, cracked tiles, gaps around doors, sloping floors, bowed basement walls, and large cracks in the outside concrete finish. Additional signs of trouble include cracks and gaps in the drywall or between the wall and the ceiling. On top of that, water in the basement, crawl spaces, or around the perimeter of the home all can be other indications of foundation problems.
DO THOSE CRACKS MEAN YOU NEED A FOUNDATION REPAIR?
In addition to the issues listed above, home foundation repair might be needed if you find cracks at outside cement steps, in the brickwork of chimneys, or on outside walls. But when it comes to foundation cracks, not all cracks are equal. Some cracks are evidence of normal settling, while others are clearly a foundation problem. To tell the difference, consider their size. Thin cracks, less than a quarter-inch, occur on foundations and walls as a house settles. Wide cracks could indicate a much more serious problem. You should also take into account the orientation and location of the cracks, but a foundation repair specialist can help you do that.
REASONS A HOME MIGHT NEED FOUNDATION REPAIR
All homes settle, but a bad foundation will settle unevenly and cause many problems both inside and outside your home. Repairing the foundation mitigates these problems and stops the movement that is leading to these issues in the first place. On the other hand, failing to fix the foundation simply allows the home to continue to decline, leading to more issues.
