Had successful crawl space encapsulation in summer 2014 and subsequent removal of wet under floor insulation when there were few remediation companies in the marketplace. Expense was considerable. On the whole I have been pleased with the encapsulation performance with exceptions. First, the condensate pump from the dehumidifier failed the first winter when the discharge pipe through the foundation froze, resulting in about 20 gallons of water filling the encapsulated crawl space. DryZone should know this is a probability and should insulate the discharge pipe to prevent freezing, or at least let the homeowner know how to mitigate beforehand. Pump was replaced and crawl space cleaned by me at my own expense. On another occasion within a year of installation the dehumidifier fan failed and was replaced at no cost by DryZone. Finally, the crawl space access door had problems twice in five years with the coils which secure the bolts stretching under normal untightening and tightening by hand. This rendered two of the eight bolts unusable. Access to the crawl space is required for inspection and to change the dehumidifier filter. On the second bolt failure DryZone insisted that it was the homeowner responsibility to pay for the service call after multiple email exchanges even though the door access bolts had not functioned properly from the beginning. After paying almost $10,000 for this system the business practice of charging for a repeat issue seemed inappropriate. The service manager offered to upgrade the door at my expense. Overall a good system initially but longer term there was a disconnect in after installation service practices. I will say that the on-site technician was always professional, clean, and friendly. UPDATE: DryZone contacted me immediately after this post and has promised to address the door bolt issue fully and at no charge. For that I am grateful and change to RECOM if the page allows me.
