Underpinning is the process of strengthening or repairing a foundation so that it can properly support its load. The standard underpinning method involves excavating beneath the structure and installing AB CHANCE® helical piers. However, there are many other methods of underpinning, and PDQ Enterprises, Inc. has the expertise you need to recommend and implement the best option for you.
INSTALLING AB CHANCE® HELICAL PILES
One effective method of underpinning a foundation is usage of AB CHANCE® helical piles, which are spiral-shaped anchors used to create a sturdy foundation when soil conditions are unfavorable for a standard foundation. The piles are twisted deep into the ground and connected to the foundation of the home, to provide additional support by transferring weight deep into the soil. Because AB CHANCE® helical piles simply twist into dirt, they are relatively easy to insert and don’t result in the mess that digging and other foundation solutions create.
